Frustration, sadness, and neglect. These are all of the things I feel when I find something on a website that I absolutely love and it’s out of stock. I’m sure we have all experienced this before when you find the most beautiful item on the website and once you click on it you find out that they don’t have it in your size, or better yet they don’t have it in stock at all. That’s why I’m here to tell you about Poshmark! Poshmark has become one of my favorite resale and thrifting websites because of its unique way of connecting you with exactly what you’re looking for. They have both an app and a website where you can save your sizes, what brands you like, and what price range you would like to shop in. The products on the website are sold by real people with reasonable prices. You can search for specific products or just browse the site based on the criteria of what you’re looking for. I have found some of my favorite products on this site and have had only great experiences with the people I have connected with. The messaging system is quick and efficient to keep you directly in touch with the seller of the product and Poshmark sends you a prepaid label to ship your products to whomever purchases it.

Not only have I purchased things on Poshmark, but I have sold many things as well. In 2019, I went through a phase of cropped leggings and decided to buy the entire Lululemon storefront of 21-inch inseam leggings. As some of you may know, Lululemon is not cheap. Once I grew out of that phase and realized that my leggings would be cuter if they actually reached my ankles, I wanted to find somewhere to sell the leggings rather than just giving them away. This is when I discovered Poshmark. I took pictures of all of my items and posted them on my account page under the section “my closet.” Within days I received offers on my clothing and I was immediately emailed a label to ship them to the buyers. All I had to do was buy some envelopes, package them up, and put them in my mailbox. The money was deposited into my Poshmark account balance and from there I was able to transfer it over to my bank account.

Through all of this I was able to make money off of my clothing that I didn’t want anymore, gain access to things that were out of stock on their original websites, and contribute to the process of reducing, reusing, and recycling clothing. Who knew it was so easy to be conscious of the environment while shopping for clothes to add to your wardrobe?
